FAQ

What is Home Staging?

Home Staging is preparing a house to show it in its most attractive light to potential buyers. A home on the market needs to be welcoming, warm, and neutral to as many potential purchasers as possible. It must be a place where potential buyers can see themselves at home.

What Does a Home Stager Do?

A Home Stager considers all sensory impressions that a potential buyer would receive when viewing a home for sale. Issues that may be addressed include clutter, pet smells or other offensive odors, cleanliness, furniture arrangement, floor plans, personal items and collections, artwork and decorative accessories. Once these areas are identified and addressed appropriately, the Home Stager tastefully makes each home as enticing as possible to buyers.

Why Should I Stage My Home?

Studies have shown that professionally staged homes sell faster, for more money, and yield a high return on investment.
*All statistics are taken from the International Association of Home Staging Professionals.

  • Homes that are NOT staged spend 3-30x the number of days on the market versus a professionally staged property.
  • Staged homes typically sell for up to 20% more than list price (roughly $5-$150k).
  • Homes are often initially listed for more than if they were not professionally staged.

What is Decorating?

Decorating applies to a new or existing home, office or commercial space. The decorating may involve a single room or an entire house. The decorator may help a client choose new furniture, replace window or wall coverings, replace flooring, bring in new artwork and/or accessories, add color or create an entirely new color scheme, etc. Interior Decorating is not the same thing as Interior Design which also focuses on architecture and structure of a home or building.

What is Interior Redesign?

Interior Redesign is enhancing your home or work space using existing furniture, artwork and accessories you already own. This is the most cost effective way to decorate.
